If you are enrolled in the BCBSMA Core, Buy-Up, or Consumer Choice Plan you have access to 24/7 telehealth care through MDLive.

Virtual primary care, urgent care, and mental healthcare will be FREE!

If you receive other types of care or these services refer you to other providers for care, you will incur costs based on the medical plan you’re enrolled in. In addition, if you receive telehealth from a provider other than MDLive, your medical plan cost share will apply.

Examples of covered services:

  • Primary care: Annual physicals, medication refills, specialist referrals, minor illnesses or injuries
  • Mental health: Anxiety, depression, addictions, OCD, stress, phobias
  • Urgent Care: Cold & Flu, diarrhea, pink eye, UTIs, sleep issues, migraines

Search for a provider by logging into My Health Toolkit > Providers & Services. Then select Telehealth. From the My Health Toolkit app, select Find Care > Video Visit. When you get to the MDLive app, follow the instructions to register.

For future visits, you can download the MDLive app and log in using the same email address and password you use to register.

Participants enrolled in a Company medical plan through Kaiser can access telehealth through their phone, computer, or the Kaiser app. Your doctor or care team can diagnose your health issue and prescribe treatment, or, if needed, medication.

Explore your telehealth options and determine what works best for you on kp.org.

Kaiser members also have access to three on-demand self-care apps at no additional cost and without a referral. Self-care apps may also be used to support clinical care. Visit kp.org/selfcareapps for coverage details.

The Calm app provides hundreds of programs and activities including:

  • Guided meditations
  • Sleep stories
  • Mindful movement videos

The Ginger app provides 1-on-1 emotional support coaching and self-care activities to help with many common challenges.

  • Coaches are available by text 24/6.
  • You can use Ginger’s text-based coaching services, at no cost, with no referral needed.

The myStrength app by Teladoc helps members:

  • Set mental health goals
  • Track progress
  • Get support managing depression, anxiety, and more

Note: Some individuals who receive health care services from Kaiser Permanente through state Medicaid programs are not eligible for the Ginger app and services. Eligible Kaiser Permanente members can text with a coach using the Ginger app for 90 days per year. After the 90 days, members can continue to access the other services available on the Ginger app for the remainder of the year at no cost.
