Starting This New Chapter Together

Now that you’re married or in a domestic partnership, we recommend certain actions.

To update your last name and/or address in our system, visit HR4You and click on Employee Profile. You will need to provide supporting documentation, like an updated Social Security card, to confirm your new name.

You have 31 days from the date of marriage or domestic partnership to make any allowed changes to your benefits. Take this time to ensure you have the health coverage and financial protection you need for yourself and your partner.

You can initiate changes online at Benefits4MeEnroll > I Want to > Learn About > Getting Married. Visit Making a Mid-Year Change to understand the actions you can take to update your benefits.

Note: If you cover your domestic partner (and/or their children) under your benefits, federal law requires the Company to treat the value of their benefits differently for tax purposes. You’ll find more information on the Who Is Eligible page.

Don’t forget your documentation!

To add your new spouse or domestic partner to your benefits, you will need to show proof of eligibility, such as a marriage certificate or notarized copy of a Domestic Partner Affidavit. Refer to Who Is Eligible for information on Dependent Verification.

It’s important to keep your beneficiary information up to date to ensure your life and AD&D benefits and 401(k) and Health Savings Account are distributed according to your wishes and in a timely manner.
