The Elements of Well-Being

They’re built around what people need to live well, stay healthy, prepare for the future, and adapt as life changes.

That’s why we’ve organized our benefits and well-being strategy around 8 essential elements of well-being. Each element represents an important part of everyday life, and each is supported by benefits, programs, and resources designed to help you along the way.

Eight dimensions of well-being: Mind, Body, Fuel, Balance, Connect, Grow, Support and Secure—covering mental and physical health, daily habits, work-life balance, relationships, personal growth, caregiving resources and financial well-being.

Together, these elements give us a more meaningful way to think about benefits—not as separate plans, but as a connected system of elements that works together to support you.

This framework helps us:

  • Design benefits around the needs of real people—not just traditional benefit categories—and continue to evolve our benefits strategy as our needs—and the world around us—change
  • Identify opportunities to introduce new programs that will strengthen your overall well-being
  • Show how benefits work together to support different goals, life stages, and priorities
  • Simplify your discovery of the resources that are most relevant to you today

With so much to choose from, it’s up to you to choose the right mix of benefits (your benefits formula) that works best for you. Depending on your goals and where you are in life, you may rely on some elements more than others. And, year over year, your focus may shift between your emotional and physical health, fuel and balance, connections and growth, and support and security.
